Ancients:
These
wise little buggy-looking creatures were homeless and
nearly extinct. They had been looking for a home for
generations and when they ran across Crichton they
performed their standard compatibility test. They
manufactured an entire world from his memories. It was
so well done that for a long time John thought he was
back on earth. When the Ancients realized that earth
wasn’t the home of their dreams, they apologized by
giving John the wormhole information he needed. But they
didn’t just give it to him, they buried it deep in his
subconscious, saying that if he wasn’t intelligent
enough to discover it, he wasn’t intelligent to use it
sensibly. A couple of cycles later they came calling on
John again. Together, John and the Ancient known as Jack were able to
stop the Scarrans from obtaining the wormhole technology
and protect the Ancients' new home. A

Banik
Slave Race: Stark’s
people. A race of slaves with the ability to give
certain comforting thoughts. These people are able to
cloud their thoughts and even the Aurora chair can’t
force them to reveal what they want to hide. They’re
only partially corporeal and can sometimes survive
dispersal. Some members of this race, Stark included,
are Stakira. Nerve;

Barkan
(Mention Only): Rygel said, "Like a barkan out of
Hezmana", which probably means that a barkan is similar to an
earth bat. |
|

|
Boolite
(Voice
by Ben Browder): A blobby creature with a very high metal content. It’s
body parts can survive separately from the main body for up to half a cycle.
One took refuge on Moya after escaping from the Peacekeepers and Crais and Jool
tried to put its parts back together like a slimy jigsaw puzzle. Fractures |

Brindz
Hound: Blood tracker with six legs.
Fierce, mean and not too bright. It was brought aboard Elack, the elderly
Leviathan, to assist the Grudeks while they were harvesting tubray. Crichton
outsmarted it by playing "tethered goat" and luring the hound into
defenestrating itself. Crichton Kicks

Budong:
An
enormous species, so large that Moya could fit in its claw. Before Chiana
came to Moya she lived in a mining colony built on the carcass of one of
these huge animals. When the crew was starving, she led them back to the
budong in the hope that her friends there would help out. Budong miners search
for nogelti crystals deep inside the animal, but have to be careful to stay
away from the Budong’s toxic nodules. Budong’s eat energy like candy,
and since ships give off energy, they’re a shipping hazard. Talyn was
swallowed by a Budong and was only able to escape when Stark came up with
the idea of making the Budong vomit him out. Home

Builders
(Jonathan
Hardy): Moya’s gods. These are the guys that gave Leviathans souls.
They are very careful about their “children”, watching over them to make
sure they remain gentle beasts. Moya, Pilot and Zhaan were tested by one of
the Builders, Kahaynu, to see if they lived up to the standards set by the
Builders. Look at the Princess,

Calcivore
(Francesca Buller): A
being who eats calcium usually, if not always, in the form of bones. M’Lee
is the only member of this species we’ve met so far. She appears to have a
hard shell covering almost all parts of her body and spikey protrusions on
her joints. When she gets hungry, she turns from a mild little being into a
fearsome predator. Her head glows red and
protrusions grow from her scalp before she attacks, kills and drags
her prey to her eating ground to feed on it. Bone to

|
Catons
(Danny
Adcock): Owners
of the slave mines where Jothee was imprisoned. They refused to search
through the lot of 10,000 slaves to find Jothee and so delivered all the
slaves to Scorpius. When Scorpy found Jothee, he ordered the execution of
the other 9,999 slaves. Liars, Guns, and

Charrids:
These
guys are a nasty piece of work. In the distant past they attacked Hyneria
and killed huge numbers of people, even eating the Hynerian young. Now,
they’re allied with the Scarrans, working with them to develop (or steal)
wormhole information. Furlow hired them for security. They were her test
pilots during her wormhole development until they betrayed her to the
Scarrans. Infinite Possibilities, Part

Colartas:
A
species with expert tracking abilities, including an outstanding sense of
smell and the capability of reading energy signatures. They can also
shape-shift to take on the appearance of another being. Xhalax Sun
originally had three Colartas in her retrieval squad but when one of them
was wounded, she killed him. The other two were killed by John and Crais.

Coreeshi: The gang of bounty hunters wearing bio-engineered armor who boarded
Moya on a Crichton-hunt. They have a great little shrinking device that reduces their opponents
to a size small enough to fit into a tin can. Then they store them within their armor. I Shrink Therefore I Am

Diagnosans:
They
specialize in diagnosing and treating disease, but they are very
susceptible to it themselves. They keep a large store of
almost-dead bodies of a huge number of species which they use for
research and parts replacement for their patients. Die Me

Dellos Concubines (mention only): They have a gland implanted that
secretes heppel oil. Its perfume targets the erogenous zones. What Was Lost, Part 2: Redemption

|
Delvians:
They are a flora-evolved species who have very long lifespans.
They’re blue in color and have floral markings on their heads
and bodies. Because they are evolved from plants, Delvians have an
extremely pleasurable reaction to solar energy, experiencing what
they call photogasms. They strive for peace and serenity, but are
prone to insanity. They have the abilities to move very quickly
and to blend in with the background. If they go into a period of
starvation, a budding cycle begins and Delvians produce spores
which cause allergic reactions in many animals. This makes the
animal easier for the Delvian to capture and eat.

Deneans: The Deneans
are much like earthlings in that they haven’t done much (if anything at
all) in the way of space travel. In fact, until John Crichton came along
none of their species had ever met an alien. I, ET

|
Dentics: They look like little white
caterpillars and are used instead of a toothbrush and toothpaste, feeding
off of the food particles in the mouth. John claims they leave a minty
aftertaste. You're never supposed to swallow a dentic but when the crew was
starving, John fried some up for a meal claiming that you can eat anything
if it's fried. Fried or not, it tasted so terrible that only Rygel was able
to eat one. Exodus from
Genesis, Home on the Remains |

 |
Draks:
A race of giant bug-like beings who live in space but need warmth to
give birth. Zhaan channeled their Monarch (or queen-bug) when they infested
Moya. They have the ability to duplicate the exteriors of other beings by
using a bit of their DNA. Exodus from
Genesis |

|
Drannet
(Mention
Only): I have no idea what a drannet is. When John was jealous/angry/hurt
over what he though was Aeryn’s “recreating” activities with Crais,
Aeryn (who had no idea what John was thinking) told him to stop acting like
a drannet.

Eidelons:
Moya's crew discovered the Eidelons on the water planet where
Aeryn & John were crystalized. Noranti recognized a symbol and
connected them to the people of Arnessk who had been in stasis for
12,000 years. The Eidelons have the ability to facilitate peace
among species. What

Energy Riders: This life
form gets its kicks by sipping or tasting other life forms. Usually it
isn’t detectable, but one of the Energy Riders who boarded Moya was
diseased. It got into Chiana and refused to leave until it was killed by the
other Energy Rider. Losing

Fungus, Giant Space: It snuck up on Pilot while he was preoccupied with
observing a wormhole. Before very long, it was everywhere on Moya, making her and everyone else
miserable with the eye-watering fumes it gave off. It was finally killed when the crew sprayed
and ignited Solanterum Fobex. Natural Election
